12 Months for defending his home I don't even know if this is true or not, but some guy just phoned up Jon Gaunt and said that he caught a burglar in his home, and admits to giving him a real beating. He says he then sat on him and called for the police.
When asked in court if he had remorse for what he'd done, he said, "he'd do the same thing again". He got 12 months in prison for showing no remorse.
The junkie who was robbing him, got let off.
The rule book says that you are allowed to defend yourself, and remove the threat to yourself and your family, but that is all. This guy admitted the beating he gave was excessive.
Was he right or wrong?
