Why don't you apply to the National Lottery for funding?

as soon as we can persuade the council to give us back the building bequeathed to the town and being sold off by the council for developers we will.

I have to say I think lottery money goes to some very undeserving places. It was only the other day, a child's hospice was refused, and has to close, but the money was given to some totally ridiculous cause (which I cannot remember).

I know there is no rhyme or reason sometimes, I help raise funds to build a childrens hospice in Huddersfield the 'West Yorkshire forget-me-not trust'. I am not sure if they have applied or not I think they should.
But I do think the government should fund the NHS.

Yes I did see those bits when I looked, however, I meant charities as in NSPCC, Blind and deaf people, hospices, cancer research, Great Ormand Street hospital etc..

In my local area, the lottery funded this:

Sutton Arena Leisure Centre

Now I don't mean to be funny, I know they're essential but there are already 5 leisure centres within a 3 mile radius of this leisure centre. This leisure centre is not a non profit organisation or charity, this is a profit making business - why then, should they have received money?

Membership at this leisure centre costs £35.00 per month, the kids clubs (karate, track), tumbletime and bouncy castles are not free either.

Anyway Poppy, please see the thread "things to do before you die".
You are very clearly just telling me to look at the thread, not to post examples on it.
SORRY

SORRY

I meant please see the thread as I had a suggestion for one of the things on your wishlist.

Yet again it is not a big deal but does not relate to "things to do before you die", but I guess I'm just being a prick again.

I answered that I thought we were having quite a good debate.
the above project has been an ongoing battle in our town for a few years and your suggestion to apply for a grant is is a good one.
