Biography:

Anwar Sadat was President of Egypt from 1970 to 1981 and was one of the key architects of peace between Egypt and Israel. A career military professional, he participated in the 1952 coup that overthrew King Farouk, then the leader of Egypt. After becoming president, he embarked on peace negotiations with Israel. He met Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and participated in peace talks at Camp David with Jimmy Carter. In 1979, Sadat and Begin were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He was assassinated in 1981 in Cairo by religious extremists.
Leadership Attributes:

During a period when most Arab leaders were opposed to Israel on hard-line ideological grounds, Anwar Sadat was realistic. Sadat believed that negotiating with Israel was the path to peace and security. Sadat also carefully studied the domestic Egyptian political atmosphere to ensure that he had the necessary popular support to embark on negotiations with Israel. Sadat's astute leadership marked the beginning of an era of peace and stability between Egypt and Israel.

I am Gandhi.

No I am Honest Abe.

Biography:
Routinely rated as our best president by historians and scholars, Abraham Lincoln guided the country through its greatest crisis: the Civil War. Born in humble circumstances in Illinois, he overcame his modest background by becoming a successful lawyer, politician, and leader of his nation.

Leadership Attributes:
Lincoln was a pragmatic leader: he was willing to compromise to hold the Union together, guaranteeing slavery in the states where it already existed. He also suspended individual civil rights in order to win the war. He was also supremely flexible, willing to try a number of different policies. For example, he went through seven generals until he gave command of the Union Army to Ulysses S Grant. One of the talents that allowed him to hold the northern states together during the war was his diplomatic ability. He could bring politicians from varying backgrounds together.

George Washington
Biography:
As the first President and father of our nation, George Washington set the standard for succeeding presidents to follow. At a critical time in the nation's history, he provided stability and prestige. He was the military leader of the colonies during the Revolutionary War. Against daunting odds, he led the military effort that ultimately drove the British from the colonies. After the war, Washington was chosen to be chairman of the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention of 1787, providing the prestige needed for success.

Leadership Attributes:
George Washington was political pragmatist. He could overcome ideological divisions, like those dividing Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton, who both served under him. He was able to admit the dire situation of the colonies after the American Revolution. Washington was also a consummate diplomat: he handled the tempestuous relations between Hamilton and Jefferson. He also deftly negotiated the relations between military and civilian authority during the American Revolution.
