I adore the work of Barbara Hepworth. When we lived in Cornwall we spent a lot of time in St Ives, if you walk along the top path from the town towards Hale, you go right along the side of her garden, and used to be able to see some of her work. Not sure if you still can, this was back when she still with us and living there.
Her sculptures just beg to be touched, Oh to be that talented.

Well considering there's only one female artist out of about thirty I posted I'm a bit baffled by your question. I don't know of any great female artists to be honest but if we are referring to the link I provided then I would have to say my favourite paintings on that particular link are in order of preference:

Picasso's tumblers
Picasso's maternity
William Clark Wotner's; an elegant beauty
Antione-Jean Gros' painting of Madame Pasteur
Borivikovsky's portrait of M. I. Lopukhina
Millias'; The Matyr of the Solway

My least favourite are:

Merrild; American beauty
Commere's La Belle Liseuse
Rubens; Le Chapeau de Paille

What about you Poppy? What is your favourite from the link I provided? Oh, and don't you think eggman has produced an amazing video?

Sorry I wasnt referring to the list I hadn't read it properly. I watched the trick video which is very clever. I started reading the comments but didn't make it to the end.
I like a few women painters, one I particularly like Is Beryl Cook, I know a few of the people she has portrayed in her almost jokey type painting, and she has their spirit captured perfectly. As I said my great heroin is Babara Hepworth.
