I like Tay Mears, but David Attenborough is in a whole other league. I tell you who I've rediscovered recently though, is Bill Oddy. Annoying though, I did this on the second from last programme in his current series. He's has an absolutely contagious passion for animals, and it's really inspiring.
I loved it when he was saying that if you asked him what the most amzing animal he'd ever seen was, it wouldn't be lions, whales, or polar bears, it would be a flock of Starlings at Sunset. You could see in his eyes how blown away he was by the specticle of it, it made you want to be there too. That's what I call a wildlife presenter.
