Listen, I'd rather go spend my money on taking my super hot girlfriend to a live performance than getting drunk on cheap beer. Any decent shows in London that you could suggest we watch?

Well said that man!

Any show would be time and money better spent going to see a show, any show, rather than pissing it up against a wall and not being able to remember which wall you were pissing against.

When I was stationed in London I used to get called by those in the regiment who used to go out and get pissed every weekend.
I'd go and spend my money on getting into a show of any description. Things like a play about a man who'd lost his direction in life, or something similar
The 'lads' on the other hand thought it was cool to go and get pissed.
I wonder who has the better memories now?

In other words, go and see anything. Even if it's bad laugh and joke between the two of you as to how bad, or good, it was. These are all things you'll remember when you get as old as me.
Live, enjoy...and most of all, see at least one crappy show like that French miserable shit, Les Miserables, just so you can say you've seen it and it was in fact shit!

It is the best of both worlds.

The last band I saw live was The Hamsters, brilliant. Kind of a Hendrix tribute band but they do their own stuff as well.

Crowded House? Too soft and slow for me I'm afraid.
