| The whole "Winterval" thing was a promotional device thought up by a small group of Birmingham shopkeepers and sanctioned by the local authority. It meant, and means, b-all in real terms, but the non-PC brigade were persuaded by deliberate misreporting that it was some sort of national movement and their ever-quivering knees started jerking. Winterval cards? Really? Where?
Actually, as an atheist I rather like the idea of getting rid of the word "Christmas", ridding the festival of connection to some ancient con-artist called Christ and identifying it for what it really is and has been since pagan times: a very pleasant party season to hold back the gloom of winter.

| Pity it won't turn back to a Pagan festival, it will become a Muslim one. |

Chritians just highjacked the winter festival, to subjugate the pagans, bring back Jule let us just party the dark away.
And while we are at it giveback Easter too, let us celebrate the coming of summer just for the heck of it.
