Default Super size me...

I just watched the documentary "Super size me" about the guy who lived on McDonalds alone for a month.

Frightening stuff indeed, although he admited it was extreme, some people visit McDonalds daily, or perhaps three times a week is not unusual.
Toward the middle of his task Doctors were concerned at the damage the diet was doing to his body.He was having headaches, waking up breathless, but get a rush after eating, just like a junkie. His body wieght increased as did his cholesterol and his body fat levels,Kidneys suffered too.

Must admit I like the occassional Big Mac......against best information available now though.

I watched that too, was a serious eye opener. Even if no one does it three McDonalds meals a day, they would still of eaten the equivalent of what Morgan Spurlock ate soon enough, and they do that constantly!

It was especially frightening that they passed some kind of legislation so that fast food companies could never be sued again. I think the case of targeting children was very strong indeed, and McDonalds should be held accountable for it.

Finally it was incredible that their so called 'healthy option' salad, actually contained more fat and cholesterol then a big mac!

i love that film. it's soooo funky -- graphics and music and spurlock. but come on -- eye-opener? anyone who doesn't know that fast-food is killing them just doesn't want to know. denial.

I seriously believed that any food was OK, even fast food, and McDonalds in particular was a balanced meal.
It has all the components of a balanced diet after all...its all about degrees...everything in moderation...even Big Macs.

For syb's information I will try to describe them...

A steam dampened Bap that holds a dollop of something similar to Mayonaisse,a piece of gherkin, some brown edged lettuce slices wilted by the heat, and a well done burger.
Sometimes they have a rubbery texture due to their being kept warm too long, otherwise, a rubbery texture because because that how the baps are, but not as much as when they are wrapped and kept warm.
And apparently you can get the same recipe in Berlin,Madras,Bejign, Moscow or London....the marvel of multinationals.
