Save As...? And then change the format at the bottom.

Thanks EMW but don't overestimate my abilities in this kind of stuff! I want to change one of my short stories so I can import to my Kobo reader (which doesn't recognise .doc, only .docx). It's presently in my Documents, so can you give me an idiot's guide how to do it please?

Save it as .rtf. That's much more portable.

Stop it - you're frightening me with all this techno-speak! I eventually discovered Calibre, and it was so user-friendly (it must be if I could understand it!) Conversion was such a doddle that I found myself on a roll and imported all 18 of my stories/novellas which are now safely ensconced in the Kobo. The app was 1.84, and even though I only needed it for this exercise I'd have paid 20 for it - brilliant.
