FFS! We must be stark staring bonkers to keep on giving it to 'em - when we're neck-deep in a recession!

lol. you're surprised there's endemic corruption, hence poverty, in African states?

You'll be telling me there's none going on in this country, and we receive massive amounts of 'aid' from Europe and the IMF.
Faced with certain disaster, defiance is the only answer.

Nah, Europe and the IMF stroke ECB won't aid us until we bankrupt ourselves, then they will but only on condition that we join the Eurozone. Then it's Project Completed.

Oh! Poor little us. It,s more a case of ." If we are not in charge then we won,t play. We did,nt fight two huge wars to not hold the whip hand. And we are still engaged in trying to do just that.

You're totally missing the bigger picture; this isn't a case of political posturing (I mean who takes Cameron seriously for a start!?), it's about our old friend 'ever closer union'. Wake up and smell it Mack.

All Europe is really all about is cutting up a cake, in such a way as to stop anybody nicking more than their fair share. In the past someone always tried for the lions share by trying to push everyone else out of the way, hence carnage ,on a massive scale. OK, to be able to agree on the bigger picture some small amounts of individuality has to be excepted, but why on earth do people in this country act as if only we are set on not loseing our sovreignty to any great degree? The Germans the French, The Italians, all are every bit and more nationalistic than we are . So why only us should worry? The only way we will ever use the Euro, is if the the pound became so weak that it was,nt worth retaining, but the Euro was going from strength to strength. Now if that should be the case I hope we have got the sense to get in the Euro, or any other currency that will have us as quick as is possible. The bigger picture is we need to keep up with the Germans and the French, just as we always have. Step well away from the unity that the EU has given us and we step away from a llegitimate say in anything happening on that continent. And we have always insisted on having just that.
