Casper, those fish are but a dream for me. I would pay a lot of money to catch one of those fish, in fact i would have to buy a complete set of kit because mine is completely inadequate for that kind of fish, well rods and reels any way....oh, and a bloody bigger net.

The one bad thing about catching a carp that size is trying to better it. This is one of my criteria of fishing, i have to have something to achieve even if it's to catch a fish. Those fish in the link are40-50lb+ and there aint many of those in England, and to fish for them i would have to get on the end of a very long waiting list, 2--5 years.

Well I,m utterly dissapointed and disgusted. I return a happy man from my little fishing trip to find my parting post still on screen, no abuse no wise cracks nothin not even good luck you big daft cun#, well, let me tell you i take being ignored and being made to feel insignificant very personally......i witheld writing this post last night because i was a bit dissapointed and a lot pissed....nuff said

Well, for the benefit of our visiting guests, FUCKING MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, I had a ball....arrived in Winsford around 7pm Friday and whent straight on the piss with my mate and his mates having the crack till 3amish......kebab and kip........I had two rods in the water for 7.30ish.

There were doubts in my hungover head about tying knots and generally setting up my gear.....those doubts were layed to rest when at 10.15am i pulled in a 14Lb 1oz mirror carp.

That was it for Saturday, not a single bleep on my indicators all day.

We had to change to another lake for the night session, due to there being a "No Night Fishing" rule on the first lake. The "night" lake was a bit of a none starter, quite a plain looking place and generally uninspiring.....anyway......two horrible slimy Bream apiece through the night was not what i was expecting. The fishing there was crap but we had a ball on the bank with plenty of this that and the other

I was glad to be back on the "day" water. Again, two rods in at 7.30ish and crack another can.......9.30ish and i was connected to a 12lb ish mirror, quickly unhooked and back in the water she whent. Couple of cans later and i was feeling the lack of sleep, dozing at 11.30ish and my right hand rod gave two bleeps and then almost bent double(slight exageration, but i was fishing at 90 degrees to my rods and the fucker bent believe me) anyway after the initial run a 16lb 7oz mirror came in pretty dossile, quite uneventful, but it had beat my personal best by 2lb 1oz.....i was buzzin let me tell ye


Although i tried to keep my eyes open i couldn't so a few hours kip and i said my goodbyes and was home and in the pub by 6ish.....a very happy bunny
