No need for space between Sid and ?, and no need for space between ( and we.
And substituting is for are cannot be put down to the use of two fingers.
Do whatever you want with your fingers, if the opinions of someone such as yourself had any effect on me then I'd probably end up a paranoid, insecure freak.

I think this gives me freedom to rip your posts to shreds, every mistake from now on will be pointed out to show that it's not just a slip of the finger but a complete lack of understanding of grammar. And you're not even female, imagine if you were, it'd be seen as sexism, as it is it's just, well, words fail me for once.

Hey sid i hope you're not going to start checking my grammar .If you do you might not have anytime for your deep and meaningful discussions, with all the bollocks i drop. But hey thats just me .
flease excuse any smelling mistakes.

Nobody told me you need an english degree to come on here.

I appreciate it can become frustrating raeding some of my posts at times.Theres not much i can do about it now ....certainly not overnight .I hold no appologies for this ,just ask for patience.

I don't mind reading anyone's posts that are poorly written, what I do mind though is people who try to pick people up for their lack of spelling, then go on to write like a two year old ape.

Write however you like Skinny, and flease don't fink yew have two spel right to cum on hear, jussed sai wot yu wont too sai.

There you go Had, I'll bet every poster apart from you had trouble reading that.

first i'll say that i didn't return here specifically to pick at sid again; neither have i any reason to stick up for Had. but...

technically, Had referred to "a load of things". this is a singular item (like a box of chocolates or a bunch of flowers), so, "there is a load of things" is grammatically correct. alternatively, he could've said "there are loads of things".

and please sid, i know there IS a load of examples you can quote from literature and DIY manuals, but that doesn't make them correct. (i get my information from a friend with a degree in linguistics.)

so can we cut the pedantics and discuss something real? please.

Certainly. I'll consider myself told.

I still disagree though. It's got to be 'are' because he used things, plural.

Sorry, just can't help myself! Oh no, I can feel another moment....is pedantics a real word?

coincidentally, i just tripped over this on the net:
Quote:
PEDANTICS is a percussive dance ensemble specializing in Appalachian Clogging and Flatfooting,
so, can we now cut the clogging and flatfooting? please.
