Claims are being made that the latest liquid bomb threat is a hoax as its too difficult to produce the right chemicals and that if produced, they would be too volatile.

it makes sense to me...BUT there are other ways to do this.

I think if it was all crap they would have charged the lot and not released two without charge. Or could this be yet another conspiracy from wonderland.

not being one to harp on the conspiracy factor..ha ha, i do find it amusing to think that isnt a hoax, or fear mongering.....

ask the bloke who blew up his kitchen or something with a cleaner....
there are numerous ways to make an explosive mixture.....using a variety of ingredients......not rocket science, but some are extremely volatile along the lines of nitroglycerine et al.

I wonder if they will release a list of the proposed chemicals that were to be used....

I thought the whole point was that different people with different isolated harmless ingredients meet up in the plane then bring the mixture together turning them into a dangerous substance......it doesnt matter how unstable they are then....the job is done?

I thought i posted a video of the sky1 programme Brainiacs which, demonstrated how easy it is to make a liquid bomb, i was quite surprised. I can't remember the ingredients and can't find the video...........i will keep looking.

exactly!....the ingredients on theor won are non volatile.....but when mixed......bang

it depends where the explosion takes place.....in a toilet its not going to do much damage......as its away from the fusalage, and other vitals.I doubt it will bring the plane down though, especially in the quantities they can carry onboard
