Default blackbox in cars.....insurance companies go "pay as you drive"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...in_ a_source=

This is nothing less than a big brother excercise to get us used to having "tracking black boxes" inside our vehicles.

Bloody brilliant idea.....they need to keep track inside the house with Sky+ ,and this covers every eventuality for non moblie owners.

But seriously......why pay Insurance for a car that sits on your drive between 7.00pm and 8.00am when you dont have to ?

The whole purpose was to allow sensible teens who dont drive during the dangerous dark hours to get affordable insurance.....this is the natural progression.
The idea is to keep the price down by eliminating the cost of driving during peak accident times by people who never do.

Its a natural progression towards big brother Bruv.....what they dont tell is is whether this info emminating from the box will be passed/sold onto another party..ie them big brother.
Exactly what will this blackbox be capable of and who will monitor it?
will the data protection act be enfoced?

Once fitted, can it wasly be removed or is there a hidden catch..like £500 removal fee.
what if what if.
so many questions and too little answers.

What can it capture?

Has it any relevance?

Has it any worth?

Who actually cares?

You sound like the people who were so afraid of the first cars they had a man walking in front with a red flag.
Take away your paranoia and see this new device as a set of scales or a metering device...........a way of paying for the amount of Insurance cover exactly for YOUR needs.
Its a tool....the same as any other......how it is used is now the potential problem.......but with people like you to look out for our well being we have nothing to worry about.

I am looking out for myself Bruv, not anyone else.
I agree that its a good idea insofar that it will lower insurance premiums etc, but lets no be idleminded about the big brother side of it.what can it capture...depends on whats inside the box. in another quote I mentioned blackboxes capable of recording one's driving habits like acceleration, breaking, engine revs, etc etc.
what else can they do ???
Technology can work for and AGAINST us.

I am all for technology to help mankind, but not at the expense of my freedom.
