I dont think any of us has in depth knowledge enough to give a true analysis, the best we can do is throw our own opinions and prejudices at the question.
For me ? I have mixed feelings about it.
On paper its the bees knees, the dogs testicles.....the same as on paper Democracy and Communism and a Free Economy is.
In practise they need a lot of brakes and checks, incentives and restraints,to make them work as they should.
The original idea was for a economic community, that was what I signed up for, but over time it has changed to a United States of Europe, and again on paper that sounds like a good idea.
The problem now is that the UK is seen from Brussels as "oop North" is seen from London (if you get my meaning)
The UK is just a part of a very big area and we think we are not getting our say or are paying too much into the kitty.
The irony is that certain areas like Northern Ireland and other depressed areas have benefited greatly to improve jobs and prospects. But all we hear about is the Silly rules like straight bananas, most based on rumour and exaggeration.
It is still early to see how it will turn out.....but I think it is marginally better to be IN than OUT, a player rather than an observer.
