Oh yeah, i forgot the gripes.

A couple of the prof's said that Felix the monkey, which had its brain exposed and probes attached to a certain part of it, felt no pain because he was under total anaesthetic. Now this is all well and good, but what about when it comes round, it is going to hurt i don't care what anybody says. No doubt a lot of the members here have had stitches before now and would admit they hurt after the fact. Apparently the brain analyses the concept of pain and tells the body that it is feeling pain, but can't feel pain itself, so the fiddling with it is irrelevant.

Another gripe is a bit vague. The comment was made that "the conditions in the new lab will be better" I find it hard to believe that they could be much better for the animals.

What? I clicked on this thread called 'The Monkey, Rat, and me' thinking it was going to be about Sid, Ahwell, and Skinny.

Anyway, so about animal testing: with which animals do we draw the line?

(You may count 'chavs' as animals if you like).

Different thread mate, but i see where you are going.

You obviously didn't see the programme. One of the mane points of it was to point out that the voices of the scientists and professors haven't been heard for many years due to intimidation and violence, and only, manely, the voices of the twisted fucks like peta, alf and other extremist nuts have indoctrinated the world against medical animal testing.

One prof' had the arse to stand up and be counted for the sake of it. Proffesor Aziz Tipu was the man who was testing on the monkey and the child alike with "exactly" the same method of treatment, no, operation, the monkey was killed when it served its purpose as all tested upon animals are.

The child, Scean Gardner, who was suffering from a totally debilitating disorder called Dystonia which slowly took him to a wheel chair where he was totally.......well look it up 'cause i can't explain it....the kid was well fucked, lets put it that way.

Within six months of the treatment he was standing, aided, and talking coherently. It was great to see the kid so happy......apparently 8000 people had been helped by this treatment worldwide, while 100 monkeys had died. That is ok by me.

So to answer your question Casper, humans are our limit.

I saw a program about a child who was helped because of surgery techniques practiced on monkeys.....dont know what its name was.

I agree 101% with Skinny ( I hate that 101% thingy)
One childs life cannot be wieghed against 500 monkeys.

Unless the child is a chav.

I've always said this: "I'd rather the average dog lived, than the average child."

Humans suck.

How can a person that hates humans so much want to become a magistrate, eh? Which is what Casper wants, or wanted to do.......but lets not get off topic here.
