Thumbs up The Verdict

The end of the trial where the jury announce their verdict on the brutal rape case is on tonight at 9pm on BBC2.

BBC - BBC TWO - The Verdict

Will the accused be found guilty or not guilty?

I thought this program to be a low key serious attempt at looking at the dilemma of rape.
I read in my paper the other day it was a sensational salacious viewing figure grabbing joke.
Apart from being a jury of well known people and a bit drawn out, I thought it was achieving what it set out to do......drawing attention to the problems in convicting date rape type cases.

I would convict.

All you have to do is look at who's on the jury and you know what kind of a program it is, pathetic.

Frigging magistrate!
Are you trying to get some clues?

I think you need some.

I think the producers wanted a variety of people with totally different perspectives to sit as the jury. I don't see how that made it pathetic. This show was an example of what happens at trial involving cases of rape allegations and how difficult a task it is for the jury to come to a verdict. It was a quite serious programme, considering its applications.

Oh well, perhaps I'm just a sad wannabe Magistrate, which is why I thought The Verdict was one of the best shows on T.V ever!

To tell you the truth I didn't watch any of it.

I saw the names of some of the people on the 'jury' and decided I'd watch something far more intellectual like re-runs of Dirty Sanchez.
Now that's something to make you proud to be Welsh!
