Snow!

Well, the forecasts were right. We're under nine feet of snow here. One of
the local farmers has come round to ask for help in inflating his sheep with hydrogen so that they'll float above the drifts. Oh, and the chameleons in the trees have all turned white - I can't see them, but I know they're there.

I'm in West Yorkshire and its bloody cold and blowing a gale, but as yet only one or two flakes.

It was quite interesting. I think we were filling the sheep with helium rather than hydrogen though, because their baas were distinctly squeaky as they ascended.

We actually ran out of gas before we'd done them all, and the farmer wanted to use the hot air balloon method to float the rest. Luckily I managed to persuade him that a naked flame and a woollen fleece would probably prove to be an awkward combination.
